The recent edition of MIR – Multimedia Integration Expo in Rimini once again confirmed itself as one of Europe’s leading events for audio, visual, and integrated technologies. For Studiostand, it represented not just a trade fair, but a strategic platform to explore new collaborations, emerging trends, and the evolving relationship between space, sound, and immersive experience.
A Hub for Innovation
MIR stands out for its hands-on approach. Unlike traditional exhibitions, it allows visitors to directly experience technologies in real-world conditions; whether it’s large-scale sound systems, immersive environments, or advanced lighting design.
For Studiostand, whose work sits at the intersection of architecture, temporary structures, and experiential design, this approach aligns perfectly with our design philosophy: space is never neutral—it is activated by sound, light, and interaction.
Sound as a Design Material
One of the key themes that emerged this year was the growing importance of sound design for architecture as an integral component of spatial projects. Not just background audio, but a driver of perception, orientation, and emotional engagement.
From directional audio systems to fully immersive 3D sound environments, MIR showcased how sound can define boundaries, create narratives, and transform temporary installations into memorable brand experiences.
This directly reinforces Studiostand’s ongoing development of integrated sound design services, now offered alongside architectural design and trade show booth design.
Bridging Architecture and Technology
The conversations we had during the event highlighted a clear shift: clients are no longer looking for isolated setups, but for multisensory environments that combine spatial design, audio visual integration, and digital storytelling.
This creates strong opportunities for hybrid studios like Studiostand, working across:
exhibition architecture
event design and production
immersive installation design
audio visual system integration
Our background in lightweight structures and temporary pavilions allows us to connect design intent with technical execution.
Looking Ahead
Participating in MIR 2026 has strengthened our vision for the future. We see increasing demand for environments that are:
flexible and lightweight
immersive and interactive
technically advanced but spatially coherent
Studiostand is actively expanding its network of collaborators in audio-visual production and sound design, aiming to deliver fully integrated experiential projects across Europe and beyond.
Let’s Collaborate
If you are developing a project that involves exhibition design, immersive environments, or integrated sound experiences, we would be glad to explore how we can work together.
Studiostand operates with a base in UK and an active studio in Italy, working internationally across architecture, exhibitions, and experiential design.
