Transforming industrial spaces into green event venues and opting for outdoor locations can also minimize the need for additional construction and resources.

The food and beverage aspect of events contributes significantly to their environmental impact. Sustainable event planners prioritize locally-sourced, organic, and plant-based menus. This reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting food over long distances and supports local economies. Moreover, minimizing single-use plastics and opting for compostable or reusable utensils and containers further contributes to waste reduction.

Sustainability in Exhibition Stand Design and Build
At the Singapore University of Technology and Design, or SUTD for short, excellent breakthroughs were found when the students and professors were working on creating sustainable exhibition booths for the university’s events. Using recycled and reusable materials, the booths do not need adhesives or fixtures such as screws or nails to be assembled. Instead, of using net diagrams to create 3D products, each side folded inwards creates the stand pieces.
This design minimises waste and can be disassembled easily. In terms of storing, the pieces stack flat for efficient storage and at the end of use/life, they can be transformed into something else.
